Product Description
Part Number 18388: The Brushless A1000 In - Tank Fuel Pump comes with a Variable Speed Controller. It features A1000 Performance Plus Advanced Technology. This pump has a universal filter pickup, allowing for an overall height adjustment from 10 - 16 inches.
The A1000 offers more than expected performance. For fuel - injected engines, it can support up to 1300 FWHP for naturally aspirated engines and up to 1000 FWHP for forced air induction. For carbureted engines, it can handle up to 1500 FWHP for naturally aspirated engines and up to 1200 FWHP for forced air induction. It's E85 compatible, though you'll need to reduce the max FWHP by 30%.
This pump is lighter than the traditional A1000 pump. It has a reduced current draw at higher EFI pressures and an extended service life in methanol and ethanol. It comes with an integral, external brushless controller for a clean installation, cooler fuel, and enhanced reliability. It's also quieter than the traditional A1000 Stealth Pump. The outlet port is ORB - 10.
It requires a straight 12 - VDC to 16 - VDC power supply and is not compatible with pulse modulated systems or fuel pump speed controllers. The EFI rated flow is 700 lbs./hr. at 45 psi and 13.5 volts, while the carb rated flow is 900 lbs./hr. at 9 psi and 13.5 volts.
Aeromotive’s True Variable Speed Controller gives you the benefit of built - in pump speed control through a dedicated 0 - 5V analog DC input signal. It uses existing brushless technology to reduce fuel flow during low engine demand and further decrease the already low current draw, minimizing motor heat and environmental impact through reduced fuel recycling.
Using your Aeromotive In - Tank Universal Variable Speed Controlled Brushless A1000 Fuel Pump is straightforward. First, make sure you have a straight 12 - VDC to 16 - VDC power supply as it won't work with pulse modulated systems or other fuel pump speed controllers. Install the pump in your tank, adjusting the height between 10 and 16 inches using the universal filter pickup.
When it comes to engine compatibility, know the FWHP limits for fuel - injected and carbureted engines, and if you're using E85, remember to reduce the max FWHP by 30%.
For maintenance, keep an eye on the current draw, especially at higher EFI pressures. Since the pump has an extended service life in methanol and ethanol, it should last a long time if used in these fuels. Check the integral, external brushless controller regularly to ensure a clean installation and cooler fuel. And because it's quieter than the traditional A1000 Stealth Pump, any sudden increase in noise could be a sign of an issue. Make sure to maintain the proper voltage and pressure levels for the best performance and flow rates as specified.
